Joshua‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT “‬‬Get up! Command the people to purify themselves in preparation for tomorrow. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you.“

Commanding the people to purify themselves is to search out the contaminating things that are delaying the progress of God’s people or, in our case, the church and this ministry to move forward. Discipline or correction is used to purify and prune what needs to be severed.

As we had watched Bishop’s video about him describing the “delayer”, he spoke how God had to remove (kill) Terah, Abraham’s father, to get Abraham to move forward. Terah ended up delaying Abraham’s progress. Maybe Terah would have lived longer if Abraham had not taken him along. What is your “Achan” in your lives that is hindering the calling of your life?

And I am asking the Holy Spirit what or who the “Achan” is in our church. I am sure we do not have Achans.

What was Achan’s reason for stealing and hiding?

He hid what he wanted, desired, and liked too much over the Will of God.

In this story, perhaps, he didn’t feel God paid him enough or recognized his position, so Achan stole gold (money) and the royal robe (authority/title).

It is whatever you are hiding in your heart which is your personal desire over God’s desire.
