What is the purpose of being saved? There may be many reasons, but you must definitely realize this one thing.
When we become saved or we start to believe, the first thing we do is ask for blessings or for personal help. But why did God take His people out of Egypt? What was He expecting? And if the people of God did not comply, Moses said God would strike them dead.
So, perhaps, in order to be set free, you need to become… what do you need to become?
When I watch our rappers (performers) or people who even testify of how God has been good to them, they think and believe they give all the glory to God, but yet I see lyrics, I see their stories, and I see their posture so eager to boast in their flesh. Those who go up or have been up should think about how they go up or have been up. If all glory is given to God, then you should continue to fly high rather than descend after the fact.
Hebrews 9:14 NLT “Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.”
Exodus 5:3 NLT “But Aaron and Moses persisted. “The God of the Hebrews has met with us,” they declared. “So let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness so we can offer sacrifices to the Lord our God. If we don’t, HE will kill us with a plague or with the sword.”
In verse 3 of Exodus chapter 5, although God requires His people to come out and offer sacrifices, this act is a component of worship. We worship as we serve, give homage, sacrifice, tithe is an act of worship, obedience, devotion and etc.
Genesis 22:5 TPT “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the young men. “Isaac and I will go up and worship; then we will return to you.”
Abraham’s context of worship was that he was going to go sacrifice his only son, Issac, in obedience to the Lord. This act of sacrifice of great value is worship.
In Exodus chapter 5, if we do not worship properly, we will experience the world’s judgment of plague and war. Therefore, we must be in constant worship so that we may be in peace, joy, and His righteousness. We can say then that when we are in personal turmoil, it is a sign that we need to go to worship God. For some, this is something you need to find with God because, perhaps, you are worshiping yourself or other things.
Additional Comments:
Christ sacrificed Himself so we can worship Him with a clean conscience. When they left Egypt, they had to sacrifice so they could start worshipping. But Christ, now being the perfect sacrifice, we can worship and become the holy worshippers rather than “give me” people.
