Numbers 16:14-15 AMPC “Moreover, you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey or given us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you bore out the eyes of these men? We will not come up!
15 And Moses was very angry and said to the Lord, Do not respect their offering! I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I hurt one of them.”
“Will you bore out the eyes of these men?”
Dathan and his clan are asking Moses basically how long we need to wait as we tirelessly wear out our eyes looking for the Promised Land. But does Korah and his clan not realize they blew it already as they are passed the point of the ten spies rejecting the promise land?
Fear and rejection become the variables altering the course from their promised land. But they decide to deceive themselves and begin to blame Moses for failing to deliver.
In verse 13, Abiram and his clan accuse Moses of Lording over them since they had failed to enter the Promised Land. So in verse 15, Moses tells them he has not taken their donkey, which in today’s terms means money or tithes and offerings. Moses is stating, you gave to God, and I have not swindled you. Moses is indirectly stating, you added your own variables of fear, complaining, and rejection of the King, and therefore, you are getting what you got, so stop blaming me.
God is on the side of Moses and about to consume the complainers.
