Numbers 14:1-4 AMP “AND ALL the congregation cried out with a loud voice, and [they] wept that night.
2 All the Israelites grumbled and deplored their situation, accusing Moses and Aaron (the pastors at that time), to whom the whole congregation said, Would that we had died in Egypt! Or that we had died in this wilderness!
3 Why does the Lord bring us to this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and little ones will be a prey. Is it not better for us to return to Egypt? [Acts 7:37-39.]
4 And they said one to another, Let us choose a captain and return to Egypt.
5 Then Moses and Aaron (The Pastors) fell on their faces before all the assembly of Israelites.”
This incident is after the ten spies had reported a fearful report of the giants and the people complained to God. They complained to God by directing it at Moses and Aaron who were at that time their pastors. Then in verse 4, they started to intentionally listen or watch other pastors online to look for another authority to follow and honor. However, the people do not realize it was their own pastors (Moses and Aaron at that time) who interceded on their behalf against the judgment of God even though they were offended at them.
The people offended and scared thought about their old life in Egypt. When things do not seem to go right in people’s eyes, they begin to reminisce about the past and their mamas. It is like people in our church who think and regret about how their life could have been better if they had not come to the Fire of God church. Why would the people think of wanting to go back to a life that did not know God? Do they think they had missed out on a better life because they had chosen to commit to Him instead (commit church)? Was life better before they got here? Why would they even ponder on the idea that life would have been better if they were left alone? How do they know? How come they do not realize God has saved them from something much worse?
Wow, I feel the Heartache of God as I write this post. I hope our people do not think like this wondering and pondering if life would been better or think about missed opportunities if they had not committed to this ministry. How do you really know it would have went that way? How do you not know your lives may have been disastrous if you had not come here?
