Philippians 1:11
‘And you will be filled completely with the fruits of righteousness that are found in Jesus, the Anointed One—bringing great praise and glory to God!’
The fruits of righteousness: Isaiah 32:11
‘And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.’
Romans 10:10-11
Belief begins in the heart and leads to a life that’s right with God; confession departs from our lips and brings eternal salvation. For the Scriptures encourage us with these words: “Everyone who believes in him will never be disappointed.”
“The word “believe” in the Bible means more than simply agreeing in our minds that something might be true. It means “trust”—that we believe so strongly in God that we are willing to commit our lives to Him and live the way we know He wants us to live.”
I’ve been meditating on Philippians 1:11 for the last couple of weeks. The fruit of righteousness.
The book of Isaiah, chapter 32, verse 11, shows us what we must bear if we are clothed in His righteousness.
But why are so many Christians restless, anxious, confused, frustrated, doubtful, and constantly tormented by uncertainty? These are the opposite of the fruit of righteousness-peace, quietness, and confidence.
If your belief is genuine, the scripture states, it will lead to a life that’s right with God. If your belief is genuine, your confession is genuine as well and it will bring eternal salvation.
Perhaps we must ask ourselves these important questions:
‘Do I truly believe? Do I truly trust God? Have I ever truly committed my life to Him 100%? Am I living the way I know He wants me to live?’
Depending on how you answer these questions, you will know why peace, quietness, and confidence are absent in your heart and your life. You may have to ask yourself one more question. ‘Am I born of God?’
If you are genuinely born of God, no matter what circumstances or situation you may be in, you can rest in peace, quietness/calmness, and confidence/assurance by fully trusting Him. Whatever comes your way, you will not disappoint or become discouraged, knowing God is a good God.
If you have not believed rightly, it’s time to start over. In your prayer, tell God you will commit your life to Him 100% and tell Him that you will live your life the way He wants you to live. Obedience to Him will help you truly believe.
