Joshua 1:6, 9 BSB “Be strong and courageous, for you shall give these people the inheritance of the land that I swore to their fathers I would give them.
9 Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
I think we need to admit that most of God’s people come from the family of Foster farms. Please do not take offense to this message, but it is very true that many of you have never been taught how to be courageous and strong. You have been taught to run like a chicken, and therefore, many of you guys are just runners. 🏃 All you do is run away from problems. Run away and hide from issues, bills, challenges, etc. Many run to beer, alcohol, porn, crack, weed, gambling, prostitution (be a hoe), depression, vape, etc., etc.
Many of you, although you say you trust God, are afraid to die. You are afraid of the unknown. You’re afraid of taking risks. You are afraid of getting out of your bubbles. This is the reason why God’s people could not make it into the promised land and were not able to complete their task in God’s rest.
Beloved Kobe has made a courageous decision to join the Army Reserves. He knows he needs to change. He knows he needs to learn structure and discipline beyond weekend church services. He will climb 50-foot obstacles and descend. He will think he is Spider-Man. He will roll in the mud like some slug. He will become fit. He will become better-looking. He will tone up. He will know how to march 10 miles with 50 pounds of gear. He will get to play with guns and throw a grenade.
Beloved Kobe will come back a new man. He will have made new friends. He will learn to take care of business. He will know he can be all he can be as the army slogan goes. He will become a Man! He will be father to his daughter and future kids. He will be a husband to his beloved Kevanae.
He has made a lot of mistakes in his life. But he has chosen to take a chance with Pastor Steve’s advice and go to the reserves for 10 weeks and sign up for two years sacrificing one weekend per month.
Do you think I just come up with ideas like going to the reserves to torment my church family? Do you think i throw darts on the wall and the dart hit “join the army!” All my decisions, options, and ideas come from the Beloved Holy Spirit. If you jump on the opportunity, you will be blessed and God will change you as you comply. Do you think you can become “Man of God,” graduating from nothing? Joseph in the Bible had to go through 13 years of servitude with a barrage of constant temptation. Daydreaming does not build character. Stop daydreaming so highly of yourself. You must go into the fight to build character!
Ten weeks is not that long. How many years have you wasted daydreaming?
Who wants to join Beloved Kobe? If you are under the age of 35 years old, you may go with him.
