Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭TPT “‬‬Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. For every persistent one, he will get what he asks for.

8 Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.”

Passion footnotes: “Clement of Alexandria attributes an additional saying to Jesus and states that it is from the Hebrew Matthew: “The one who seeks should not cease until he finds, and in finding he shall marvel, and having marveled he shall reign, and having reigned he shall rest.”

“Clement’s Interpretation:

Clement expands on this promise, suggesting that the journey of seeking and finding is a process with stages:

Seek and not cease: The seeker must persevere in their search, not giving up easily.

Find and marvel: Upon finding what they sought, the individual will be filled with wonder and awe.

Marvel and reign: The sense of wonder and awe will lead to a period of ruling or having authority.

Reign and rest: Finally, after a period of ruling or having authority, the seeker will find peace and rest

Additional Comments:

Basically, you’d better not be a quitter.

Just sitting on a chair in attendance does not mean you haven’t quit. There is action involved as part of the body.
