1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,

4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.”

When we are born again, all our expectations, or, as other verses use, “living hope, eternal hope, or to experience a living hope,” our lives will desire and depend on God alone. What does it mean to have chosen God alone? It means you have chosen to burn all your bridges and do not expect to go backward. You are all in.

The Israelites with Moses were not reborn but still looked back towards Egypt. They were a shadow of a people still unborn and looking back to Egypt when it got difficult. But as the Bible says, we are to learn from the Old Testament people and enter into the New Day while it is still today.

If you still are not willing to let it all go because and for whatever reason, be it fear, hoarding, emotional attachment, resentment, unforgiveness, desiring to be immature, fear of responsibility, and wanting to be taken care of like a child, or any backup option, you are not all in and you need to evaluate yourself to determine if you really did truly repent unto salvation. For the sons of God receive the inheritance while those outside will scramble for crumbs. And if you are still crumbling around, wake up! The Phoenician lady still got her prayer answered for her daughter to be delivered, but still, they are far from the true inheritance.

Let us declare this week: “Holy Spirit, Show me the truth of my spiritual condition and help me to repent.”
