Pastor approved post, of course.
For the longest time, I delayed getting my citizenship. I was afraid that the task would be daunting, and I was a bit afraid to do it in general, but through Pastor pushing me to, I was able to achieve citizenship after 37 years of being an alien. 8 of those years were illegal (I found out later) but that’s not pertinent to the story 😂.
Back when I was about 20 years old, I lost my wallet with all my IDs in it, including my green card. I was really devastated, and I ended up crying for like two days straight because I was freaking out and had a lot of anxiety. I thought I would be unrecognizable to the government authorities and be kicked out of the country. Later, finding out that that wouldn’t have been the case anyway, but at that time, because of ignorance and fear, I panicked. God used this situation to get me out of another one – that’s a story for another day – but through the Lord’s Grace and Power, I was able to get a replacement green card.
Fast forward up until recently.
Pastor had already told us to get passports years earlier and then brought it up again in recent months, especially among the leadership. I’m not a leader, nor do I have a title, but I did want to obey quickly. I went ahead and asked Pastor if I should apply for the Dominican passport or if I should I become a citizen and then apply for US passport. Pastor told me to do the latter and become a US Citizen. Since I already had some extra income, I went ahead and applied for citizenship right away. It was $725 to apply. The whole process only took 3 to 4 months, even though on their website they say 10 months. Pretty soon Stephen and I can get our passports as Pastor directed.
Pastor made me realize that things are a lot simpler and easier than I realize if I just simply obey and follow instructions. Yes, I know – DUH Lissa 🤦🏻♀️ – but God’s healing my spiritual paralyzation due to fear through the instructions of the Pastors.
My bigger giant, of course, is the weight loss, but I’m on my way. I’m looking forward to being a brand new person through God’s Counsel – our Pastors 🔥
May God always get the Glory, Amen 😇
