Genesis 22:19 TPT
“So Abraham and Isaac returned to the waiting servants, and they departed for Beersheba, where Abraham had settled.”
‭‭
This verse is after Abraham had passed his test to sacrifice his only beloved son, Isaac.
But let us perceive in another angle to learn deeper. Let us presume, we do not know the background story of God commanding Abraham to sacrifice his boy. To help with illustration, let us apply a little bit of exaggeration.

Let us presume, Abraham is our current leader of the tribe and we are following him based on his belief in God. All we know is Abraham and Issac had journeyed away early in the next morning a few days ago with some servants.

Then, after several days of returning, we see Isaac very upset for some reason. We see Isaac having a self-pity party, talking back to his father, showing a lot of disrespect. We are able to hear the conversation,

Issac,

“How could you try to kill and sacrifice me, Dad? You have wronged me! You are crazy! You tricked me! You had me journey with you without telling me your intent? You lied to me! You owe me an apology! I lost a week’s worth of work in hunting and could have made a lot of money, and now deer season is closed. You wasted my time! I cannot believe you tied my hands, and I saw the knife 🔪 above my heart.”

Abraham,

“I had to do what I was led to do. Can you just submit and surrender to the situation? I love you, son. You do not understand, but I need you to trust me.”

Issac,

“You do not love me! You just tried to kill me! You wronged me!”

This could have been the path Isaac had taken after Abraham had been told to stop. But we see in scripture and we can presume Issac took it well and lived a prosperous life. He inherited all Abraham had for him and Issac did not appear to have much difficulty during his life.

And this is why the Bible says HE is the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Of course there are many reasons to that statement but Abraham showed he was able to put God over his only son’s life and Issac proved to be faithful and a willing sacrifice!

Additional Comments:

This is the type of faith and great test one must endure and pass to experience the Great Blessings of God and on the other end to be one who can experience and inherit all the overflow of God’s goodness and blessings!

As a leader and your pastor, I can play the role of Abraham, and I may not be allowed to disclose my intimacy with the Lord with you because it is not for you. And that is all you need to know and accept at times, and use your own faith to push forward, lest you carnally flap like a fish and suffocate.

Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭13‬ ‭TPT‬‬
“For as you keep walking forward on God’s paths, all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed!”

And many are not healed because they continue to go around the mountain arguing and complaining, filled with offense.
‭‭
To “keep walking forward,”
Is to keep walking up the mountain. We do not stop reading, praying, obeying, doing the right thing, nor stop going to church because we are the people of God! We are the burning ones and not the ones with bad gas coming out of the rear end.

We have one in which a Father (parents) can even give their children over to put God first, and we have Isaac to represent one who is willing to lay down his life at the request of his Father.
