Psalms 42:8 (TLV) – “Deep calls to deep in the roar of Your waterfalls. All your waves and breakers have swept over me.”

There is a phrase: “Deep calls unto deep.”

To understand this better, let’s consider the ocean. When you first observe the ocean, you only see the surface, unaware of the vast life hidden beneath. But if you dive in, the deeper you go, the greater the pressure. This pressure can be overwhelming, even deadly. Yet, in the depths, there is a world of the unknown. Moreover, it’s not just the pressure you must endure—you must also navigate through deep darkness. But this darkness is not evil; rather, it conceals hidden treasures.

Most Christians, like most people, only know how to swim on the surface. Even if they attempt to dive, they can only go so far. They are unable to go deep enough or spend the necessary time to appreciate the mysteries hidden in the depths of the ocean.

How, then, can we receive deep or deeper revelations of God—His secrets? Consider Abraham: God called him His friend and chose to reveal His plans regarding Sodom and Gomorrah. God even shares coming judgments with those who walk closely with Him.

As I have shared with some of our elders, if you desire to receive the deep revelations of God, you must cultivate an intimate relationship with Him. It is more than just praying, reading Scripture, or attending church. It is reflected in your relationship with your spouse, your authorities, and/or with God’s people. There is a price to pay—a price that must be paid consistently. The deeper you go, the greater the pressure. Unless you are willing to change, to die to yourself, and to live a selfless life in pursuit of His presence, you will only remain on the surface. You may experience getting wet from the ocean, but it will not satisfy you to the point of overflowing.

Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬ “Wrapped in the thick-cloud darkness, his thunder-tabernacle surrounded him. He hid himself in mystery-darkness; the dense rain clouds were his garments.”
‭‭
Why does God cover Himself in a cloud of darkness? There is no darkness in God. But God hides in darkness because His Light would kill you. His Light will lock onto your sin like a missile and zap you like it had Uzziah.

So I added your relationship with your authorities also.
