2 Corinthians 3:6 TPT “He alone makes us adequate ministers who are focused on an entirely new covenant. Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law but through the power of the Spirit. The letter of the law kills, but the Spirit pours out life.“
What does it mean, “Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law but through the power of the Spirit?”
If we use the letter of the law to kill, then the law is used to pinpoint and show the sins of the person. It is a ministry like so many out there showing the problems of
people with no solution. Their cliche is “We will pray for you, or just trust God.” But they have no real solution since they are not a people who endure in the Spirit. They are only focused on their tribulations and bondage.
What does through the Power of the Spirit mean? The Power of the Spirit means that you need to stay in consistent prayer, reading (the whole Bible, to know His Word and so as to not make the same mistakes as the Old Testament people), obedience, crucifying yourself, coming to church, participating, serving, staying out of sin, passing your tests, learning spiritual authority, and learning to wait as the Spirit of God heals and changes you. This is called works or action of righteousness because faith without works is dead.
People under the law are problem-driven usually seeking a specific solution but failing to realize they are the problem in need of a Savior. They do have the concept of having a Savior but do not realize they need to be Jesus-driven and not problem-driven. What are examples of our problem? Problems such as addictions, broken marriages and families, people problems, money problems, lack of peace, sickness, greed, rage, lust, porno, drugs, jealousy, etc etc. We all know what problems we have and we seek to have our problems resolved secretly so that we can look holy in front of others without having our secret weaknesses revealed.
But if we are Jesus-driven then we will humble ourselves and confess/testify our sins in front of others when the time comes so that we may be empowered and free. Then, we will experience life pouring out onto us from the Spirit. If we are Jesus-driven, then we will immerse ourselves in the Word of God to know Him as we ask and seek for the Holy Spirit who will grant us the power for life through unceasing prayer to overcome all problems of the world.
