1 Corinthians 10:6-11 NLT “These things happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did, or
7 worship idols as some of them did. As the Scriptures say, “The people celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged in pagan revelry.”
8 And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing 23,000 of them to die in one day.
9 Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites.
10 And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death.
11 These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.”
What are the signs of craving or worshipping for the evil worldly things?
1. “The people celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged in pagan revelry.”
A. Drank, smoked, gluttony
B. Today’s celebration is spiritual
Feasting and drinking are
Addicted to social media,
Internet, porn, video games,
Etc.
2. Engaging in sexual immorality
A. Consequence – death!
B. You will first experience
Spiritual death
3. Testing God
A. Snakes were sent to bite
And kill
B. Today, demons are sent to
Bite and eventually die
spiritually
4. Grumbling and complaining
A. Angel of death is sent
Nothing goes right and all
things are miserable and
withering
Therefore, when you crave forbidden things, observe yourself doing the above and repent. But repent doesn’t mean, you say, “I repent!”
And then continue to do the same things over and over again… and nothing changes except you get older and bigger.
