Matthew 7:12-14 TPT “In everything you do, be careful to treat others in the same way you’d want them to treat you, for that is the essence of all the teachings of the Law and the Prophets.
13 Enter through the narrow gate because the wide gate and broad path is the way that leads to destruction—nearly everyone chooses that crowded road!
14 The narrow gate and the difficult way leads to eternal life—so few even find it!”
I would like you to ponder on these verses. Jesus is directly speaking.
What does “nearly everyone chooses” mean?
What does “so few even find it” mean to you?
What does “narrow” and “difficult” mean to you?
These verses use adjectives to describe finding life and entering heaven. If you are entering heaven and finding life, think about the words “narrow and difficult.”
What in your personal journey has been difficult and narrow? But even if you had experienced what was narrow and difficult, have you found eternal life, or do you just presume only as thought knowledge you have come to eternal life? Or are your difficulties in life from your bad decisions and choices and not for Christ?
Are we physically, mentally, and spiritually experiencing eternal life as we have suffered for Christ, passing tests, and overcoming the world with our faith? If we suffer in life, it must be for Christ and not for our bad personal decisions.
You need to think and ask the Holy Spirit such questions of where you are with Him.
Do not ever think you cannot be deceived or have not been deceived. We, at any given time, can be deceived by a situation, a thought, a decision, or an action. Just like driving to a new, unknown destination, do not just presume you know where you are going. You must, at all times, consistently check your map to make sure you are on the right road. It only takes one wrong road or a missed turn to make you head toward the wrong destination. There may be one destination for you, but there are millions of wrong destinations as well.
