For those going to either morning or evening prayer, when you pray, pray in a manner with a sound loud enough as though you are having a conversation. Do not hum or pray as though you are falling asleep. Do not pray as an old man who can barely speak. Do not fall asleep. Do not stop praying to be mad in your mind at someone or something. Pray with your tongue moving. Stop wasting time. Stop wasting the years away in vain.
If you want to get in shape and lose weight, do you think walking for 30 minutes at 1 mph, looking at your phone around the block, will have any effect on your body? No, you’re just wasting time receiving blue light and receiving cheap entertainment.
Do not punch the ground. Do not cry out cause you feel your life sucks. Life does not suck. If you were in a starving third-world country, not knowing God and getting abused, whether sexually or physically, then life would suck for you. But you are greatly blessed, so stop acting ungrateful. Think about why you cannot do better when you live in a manner in which conditions are good. Think about doing better.
Whether at church prayer or at home, do not pray in vain, wasting time. Pray with a thankful heart!
