The Third Commandment – what is the Third Commandment? People do not think they are breaking God’s commandment?
If you find a job and tell your boss you need Sundays off for church, and then you make God look bad by being late, unreliable at work, a worse worker, playing with your phone, unproductive, having a bad attitude, a complainer, grouchy at work, slandering the boss, and being lazy, then you are breaking the THIRD COMMANDMENT. Telling people you are a Christian and then being a bad example is MISUSING His Great Name!!
Then what do you think will happen? Do you think your prayers for deliverance, breakthrough, or healing will be answered? Do you think you will get out of poverty? You think you just need to pray and fast to overlook disobedience? Failing to find a job when you are required is no different if you avoid the job so you can avoid a boss.
What will then happen? Deuteronomy chapter 28 will go into effect as you bring your own curses and problems onto yourself or your family. It is that simple. You do not need to pray upside down, right side up, or on your head; your prayers will make no difference. The Bible says the prayers of the wicked will not be answered. Let us not play the role of a wicked person who makes God look bad and one who easily breaks His commandments when simple things like going to work on time are required.
Exodus 20:7 NLT “You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.”
Exodus 20:7 AMP “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, irreverently, in false affirmations or in ways that impugn the character of God]; for the Lord will not hold guiltless nor leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain [disregarding its reverence and its power].”
It is DISRESPECTING GOD. Repentance is to start doing the right thing. It is to be one of the best employees. It is to be one of the best students. It is to be the best example wherever you are and go. Be salt and light to the dark world!
Happy days are here again 😊🔥
Additional Comments:
If we tell anyone out there “we are Christians,” and then be a bad example, we are breaking the Third Commandment by misusing His Name. When we say we are Christians, we are using His Name.
If we say “we Christians,” and we sin with the world, in front of the world, to our unbelieving relatives, friends, schoolmates, coworkers, etc, we are misusing His Name as an Identity!
It’s better you don’t tell people you a Christian if you cannot act like one but if you cannot act like one, then maybe you not?
Do not put scripture verses on your bodies, car stickers, or fish symbols anywhere, and then flip someone off who makes you mad on the road. You are misusing His Name by misusing your identity. You break the Third Commandment!
Do not ask for Sundays off if you will be consistently late for work or be one of the worst employees
“Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death.”
