Exodus 9:29-30 NLV “Moses said to him, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to the Lord. The thunder will stop. There will be no more hail. Then you may know that the earth is the Lord’s. But I know that you and your servants do not yet fear the Lord God.”
The thunder and hail are the seventh judgment of ten. Yet Moses tells Pharaoh and his servants that despite experiencing seven judgments, they still do not fear the Lord.
Many Christians are like Pharaoh and his servants. They are stubborn, and even after much discipline and squeezes, they still do not fear the Lord.
Pharaoh and his servants did not fear God because their own witch doctors or enchanters were able to copy some of the judgments on a smaller scale. They were able to make their rod turn into snakes and so forth.
Today, Christians can experience some judgment or discipline and not realize it is the hand of the Lord. They presume it is all coincidental or some logical or scientific explanation to their bad situation. Therefore, due to their own reasoning and presumption they conclude their situation is not from God. They do not fear the Lord. As a result, God will continue to increase the degree of judgment or discipline until such people like Pharaoh submit and recognize God as the Lord of all.
When we refuse to open our eyes and we continue to choose a path of stubbornness, God will use such a situation to manifest His power. HE will make such people more stubborn to increase His display of power.
When we truly possess the fear of the Lord, we will submit when HE displays His discipline and power.
