Genesis 3:6
“She plucked a fruit from the tree and ate. She then offered the fruit to her husband who was close by, and he ate as well.”
You can see how Adam did not even resist but ate the fruit that his wife, Eve, offered to him. Sadly, this is reality.
Your husband will act in a certain way at home, at church, at his job, with people, and so on based on what you “feed” him.
Without even realizing the consequences of their actions, wives are “feeding” their husbands words of complaints(of others or situations), negative words, talking wrong about others, and self-pitying words (wanting to look pitiful to make him her ally). Wives who are NOT broken and changed actually do more harm than benefit.
Some husbands complain about pastors and leaders, about some church members, their lives, their lack of confidence, their jobs, their circumstances, and so on. What have they been “eating?”
Let’s look at Genesis 2:18,
Genesis 2:18
“It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him] suitable and complementary for him.”
You, wives, are the solution to your husband’s deficiency. Pastor Lissa Bevere said, “Women! You are a solution, NOT a problem!!” But why are so many Christian women becoming more of a problem to their husbands rather than their solution???
Wives, we need to strive to achieve the level God wants! Read Proverbs 31 again and again until it is deeply engraved in your head! Your husband’s success is your success. You both will go down if you try to achieve something, neglecting your husband.
First, the household leader needs to be raised by God and rightly and properly placed in the place God intended him to be from the creation of the universe. When you assist him properly in a godly manner, when God raises him and places him in the place God intended, without you realizing, you will be already placed somewhere with him.
But if you look down on your husband and manipulate him in a certain way with your words and actions, your “dream” and “vision” will never come to pass.
Proverbs 31
She inspires trust, and her husband’s heart is safe with her, and because of her, he has every good thing. Every day of her life she does what is best for him, NEVER anything harmful or hurtful.
Read the above verse repeatedly:
*She inspires trust
*Your husband’s heart is safe
*Because of you, your husband has every good thing.
*Every day of her life, she does what is BEST for him.
*Never anything harmful or hurtful.
This one Christian couple was speaking regarding a marriage.
The husband said,
“If I treat my wife like a slave and think you are a king. You are mistaken. King does not marry a slave girl, he marries a queen. If my wife treats me like a slave, thinking she wants to feel like a queen, she would be mistaken because a queen does not marry a slave but a king. If you treat your spouse like a slave, that makes you a slave, too. But if you treat your spouse like a king or a queen, that will make you a king or a queen.”
