Remember, in original Hebrew, the wife is defined as the one who bonds the family like glue. How will she bond the family? Such a wife (one who bonds) is defined in Proverbs chapter 31. The other alternative is the foolish woman (wife) who will show a home that is withering away through her actions. How is a home torn down? When a wife neglects household duties, is an emotional roller coaster, lacks prayer and reading, does not handle motherly roles appropriately, nags her husband and puts him down, neglects cleaning and cooking when required, goes around girlfriends gossiping, is lazy, and so forth, then within time, the glue begins to weaken, and the household will be torn down. When a household is torn down, how will the husband respond? In the secular world, most husbands will leave. Is this not the pervasive problem in society that husbands leave?
In Hebrew, the word father or husband is the protector and provider. He is the one who takes and enforces godly authority. The husband cannot be the glue. He does not have the ability. Even if he cannot find a job for a while, the wife, being the one who bonds, should be able to hold out as she encourages the husband and gets him back on his feet. Our great case in point is Fay and Joshua Valle.
In the Bible, the husbands do not tear down the family. The husbands will react by leaving when the household is destroyed. This is why wives become so controlling. I am only speaking in a general sense, but in today’s time, most religious Christian husbands also end up leaving regardless.
What if the wife has a loser husband? The husband is a loser because Eve ate the fruit first. Adam became a loser when Eve was beguiled by Satan, and she partook the fruit and then gave it to her husband. Since Eve ate the fruit first, and was the one who was initially deceived, she is the one who must now know her role that birthing the life of Christ in her family will come with much tribulation, suffering, and pain. The Bible says that if she endures, then there will be life in the family.
What if you have a wife who does not endure, is not willing to suffer for Christ, and is afraid of tribulation (tests)? Then you will have only white glue that is used in elementary schools, which doesn’t stick to anything, Elmer’s glue. Then, such a household will never grow up and be stuck.
What is my point? You need to marry well. You need to start out well. And you need a person who will put God first above all things, including You. If you find a person who puts God above you and even the kids, then you have found a treasure. If you have been married for many years and in this church, wives, you already know what you are supposed to do.
1 Timothy 2:13-15 ”And it was not Adam who was deceived by Satan. The woman was deceived, and sin was the result. But women will be saved through childbearing, assuming they continue to live in faith, love, holiness, and modesty.“
Proverbs 21:9 TPT “It’s better to live all alone in a rickety shack than to share a castle with a crabby spouse!“
Proverbs 18:22 NLT “The man who finds a wife (wise) finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.“
